At last, the day we can return to the golf has been confirmed! For us at South Beds Golf Cub that day is Monday 18th May; a day I'm sure you have all been looking forward to since the course closure 8 weeks ago. The course may be opening up for play, but unfortunately for those of you who normally pay a green fee the Galley course and the Warden course will be available to member's only, for at least the next couple of weeks; that situation will be reviewed at the end of the month. For those of you who are members, there will be a few changes to how we normally go about our game. - Golf will be played in singles or 2 balls only, with all golf starting from the 10th tee
- Tee times will need to be booked, for both courses, and no more than 5 days prior to your intended game day. This will be done through the office on weekdays, between 9am and 4pm, and through the Pro Shop at weekends, between 9am and 4pm.
- It is requested that you do not arrive at the club more than 20 minutes before you are due to tee off. One of the practice nets will be open for use so that you can have a brief warm-up before heading to the tee, but the practice putting green and all other practice facilities will remain closed.
Unfortunately, the Pro Shop will be remaining closed until we get clearance from the government to reopen. Golfers will still be able to hire electric trolleys and buggies, with the charge going to the customers shop account. All trolleys and buggies will be sanitised before and after every use. The shop may be closed, but you will still see me around as I will be the starter from 7am - 9am for the first 2 weeks, and I will be making regular passes around the course throughout the day to make sure everything is running smoothly. I am really looking forward to seeing you all back out on the fairways over the coming weeks, after what has been a difficult time for all.
