Time to have your driver re-shafted? A few of our senior members have recently made the decision to have their drivers re-shafted with senior flex graphite shafts, replacing the regular flex shafts that were originally in the clubs.
The benefit of doing this is to reduce the weight of the shaft and add more flex which increases the speed the club head travels through the impact area; this will then increase the amount of spin created on the ball. More speed and the right amount of spin means more distance! Senior flex shafts also tend to have a lower ‘bend point’ than regular flex shafts; this helps to launch the ball at a higher angle, which combined with the club head speed generally gives even more distance as the ball stays in the air longer.
If you are one of those that feels you don’t get enough distance off the tee, pop in and speak to us about the possibility of changing your shaft for one than suits your swing, not somebody else’s.
One of the gentleman that changed his driver shaft to a senior flex liked it so much that he did the same with his 3 wood, and the benefit was instantly noticeable.
A standard senior flex shaft will cost £35 fitted, excluding a new grip.
