Welcome to another exciting edition of our weekly newsletter. This week we will be looking at the reasons as to why so many players are switching to a counterbalanced putter, and highlight a few impressive features of some of the wedges that we have in-store. Enjoy the read.

Fitting news

Mizuno demo day

As mentioned last week South Beds Golf Club will be hosting a Mizuno Golf demo and fitting day on Thursday 24 August, between 2pm and 6pm. We had two demo days last year and they proved to be very popular.

A custom fit expert from Mizuno will be coming along to do some fitting using Trackman to help those booked in find the right equipment to get the most out of their game.

Custom fit times are every 45 minutes from 2.00pm and will need booking in advance. 1 time has already gone so get in touch soon if you would like to make the most of this good opportunity.

For those that are not booked in for a custom fit session, the whole range of Mizuno golf clubs will be available for you to try at your leisure between 2pm and 6pm, and I will be on the range for the duration to help out and maybe pass on a few tips.

THE BENEFITS OF COUNTERBALANCING

With counterbalanced putters the key change is heavier heads, which help fight twisting to make your stroke more accurate. This head weight alone would ruin feel, so another difference is extra mass above your hands in the butt of the grip, which balances the feel of the putter.

This Titleist Scotty Cameron Futura Dual Balance putter is a great example. It utilises longer shafts from 36” to 40” to get the 50g weight in the butt of the grip above your hands, while 50g head weights further stabilise your stroke.
