Captain's and Ladies Captain's Day
Club Captain Alan Sigee had his Captain's Day last Saturday on what was a warm but windy day. Played in a double shotgun start singles stableford format, the winner of the day was Mark Scrace who managed to have 41 points in tricky conditions. Mark said a very good day on the greens contributed to his win, which was a closely fought one, as he only won on count back from Neil Johnson.
Congratulations to all of the prize winners. It sounds like everyone had a good day, especially those that attended the prize giving, as they were entertained by an Elvis tribute for the evening.
I would like to say a personal thank you to Alan for his support, as most of the prizes presented on the evening were from the Pro Shop. It's always appreciated; thanks again.
Our Ladies Captain Christine Goode had her Captain's Day on Tuesday, on what was another fine day, but with a lot less wind than on Saturday.
The ladies had a flower power theme; which certainly brightened up the club on the day!
First place on the day went to Katriona Close with 38 points.
Well done to all of the prize winners; I'm sure you all had a good day, and thank you ladies for making the place look so colourful. Photographer for the day was Past Captain David Corfan, and he took this great picture of the ladies section just before the presentation.
This has become a traditional event, and what a great one it is!
