Darren Close

Our Assistant Professional Darren Close took part in his first official tournament of 2017 this week. The PGA East Region Qualifying School 1 determines who plays in the East Region Order of Merit events throughout the year, which can lead to playing in the BMW PGA Championships at Wentworth if you have a successful campaign.

78 players took part at Essendon Golf Club in the 2 round event over 2 days. Darren played well and managed to come joint 5th with scores of 74 (+2) 71 (-1). He had 10 birdies and an eagle over the 2 rounds, so hopefully if he can shake off some of that early season rust he can compete with high expectations in the year ahead.

Bag Trade in Deal
