An evening with Billy Foster

Billy Foster, the current caddy to Lee Westwood, made an appearance at South Beds Golf Club on Wednesday evening; his first engagement since his return from Augusta National where he helped guide Lee to joint second place with Jordan Spieth in the US Masters. 

The evening was a very enjoyable one for all of those that managed to get a ticket, with Billy speaking for well over an hour about life on tour, and working with great players including Lee, Seve and Tiger. 

A few attendees also managed to get a snap shot with the man himself. 

Scratch Team News 

South Beds Scratch Team got their 2016 Summer League off to the ideal start with a good win away at The Millbrook. 

Never an easy place to go and get a result, the team which consisted of Luke Charnley, Ben Evans, Ian Tottingham, Paul Burr and Allan Campbell, were very happy with the 3.5 - 1.5 victory. 

The team's next match is at home to Wyboston Lakes Golf Club on Saturday, 21 May at 9.00am. All support is very welcome.

Pro Shop 

Pat Mannion and myself have got our first Captain/Pro challenge match this afternoon against the pairing of Paul Burgess and Steve Battlebury. 

I know Paul and Steve have been playing golf over at Woburn this week in the fantastic Charlie O'Brien Memorial Golf Day, so I'm sure they've worked on getting their game in tip top shape, ready for the big match. 

The result will be posted next week.

Mizuno Fitting Day 

I have just confirmed a date for Mizuno to come to South Beds for a club fitting day. The day will take place Friday, 10 June, between 3pm and 7pm. 

It is a little way off, but there are limited times available (it will not be a free for all), so contact me to book your place. 

We have the Mizuno iron fitting cart in the shop, so if it's just an iron fitting you are after, pop in and see us and we can arrange an appointment.
