St Patrick's Day Celebrations
Last Thursday saw the Luton Irish Golf Society take over the golf club to celebrate St Patrick's Day. It turned out to be a nice day, if a little windy, unlike the previous couple of years which had rain.
Over 80 players took part, and the winner of the ladies event (who were celebrating the 21st anniversary of the Luton Irish Ladies Golf Society) was Angela O'Flaherty.
The men's event, which is always well contested, was won by Joseph McNamara. I'm sure a good evening was had by all at the dinner/dance that took place afterwards, with possibly a couple of sore heads the following morning.
Vets vs. Luton Hoo
The Vets Section played a home match against Luton Hoo on Monday, and got a good victory. I believe they lost to the Hoo at home and away last year, which makes this win even more satisfying. I also believe that is 2 wins from 2 games for Vets Captain Dave Earye; keep up the good work Dave!
Texas Scramble this Sunday
There is a Texas Scamble taking place this Sunday. If you've arranged to meet your mates at a certain time, don't forget that the clocks go forward an hour during the night.
New Product - Vokey Wedges
The new Titleist SM6 Vokey Wedges arrived in store this week.
They have received a lot of interest, with committee member Doug Christie being the first person at South Beds to put one in his bag.
He went for the 54 degree wedge with 10 degrees of bounce, in a steel grey finish; a good all round sand wedge.
I hope it serves you well Doug.
